Grand Canyon Council Centennial Award Requirements

Must Be Earned During 2021

1. Participate in two or more of the following events in 2021:

a. A Council Centennial Picnic at one of the council camps;

b. A council Centennial Summer Camp at Geronimo (Scouts), Adventure Camp at R-C Scout Ranch (Cubs), or any Day Camp (Cubs);

c. A District Centennial Camporee (Scouts and Senior Scouts) or Adventure Day (Cubs);

d. The Council’s “Celebrate Scouting” event at the Heard Scout Pueblo.

2. Complete the following in 2021:

a. If a Cub Scout or Webelos, complete 1 rank (Bobcat counts for new Cub Scouts joining after August 1, 2021).

b. If a Scout BSA, complete 1 rank or earn 1 palm.

c. If a Venturer or Sea Scout, complete 1 rank, teach a skill to another unit, or staff a district camporee or activity day.

d. If an adult, complete all required on-line leader specific training.

3. Learn about your Arizona Scouting heritage by:

a. Anyone by visiting the traveling Scout history display at a council or district Centennial event; or

b. Scouts, Venturers, or Sea Scouts by completing the Scouting Heritage Merit Badge;

4. Complete a meaningful service project for your community with your unit during 2021. Examples include:

a. Scouting for Food

b. Other service approved by unit leader.

5. Do one of the following in 2021:

a. Participate in a Scout Sabbath or Sunday or similar service at a religious institution of your choice; or

b. Participate in a Scouts’ Own service in your unit.
