Recruiting Webelos
Most members of Troops started in Packs. Build the relationship with your nearby Packs so families know you want to help them continue Scouting.
Support local Packs as a Troop. Here is a list of things your Troop can do to facilitate the Webelos to Scout Transition all while growing your Troop:
- Commit to at least one crossover ceremony
- Attend a Blue & Gold Banquet
- Invite on campout
- Work with Troop leaders to secure Den Chiefs for each Webelos den and Cub Scout den.
- Attend a Pack or second year Webelos meeting to get to know Cub Scout parents and families – extend an invitation for them to join/ visit your troop, and provide information about Summer Camp!
Studies show Scouts that attend camp are more likely to stay involved in the program! The Scouting journey doesn’t end for a Scout after earning their Arrow of Light, it’s just beginning!
Did you know mass text messages can be sent to Webelos families? Contact your District Executive to learn more.
