Celebrating Radio Merit Badge Success at Camp Geronimo & Inviting Scouts to Jamboree-on-the-Air
We’ve wrapped up another fantastic week at Camp Geronimo, and we’re thrilled to share the success of our Radio Merit Badge program during session two. A total of 32 Scouts from four different units proudly earned their Radio Merit Badges. Another troop, consisting of over 20 Scouts, plans to schedule their session during their regular meetings this summer.
Troop 3329 deserves special mention: all nine members successfully completed the merit badge on Sunday afternoon, even before the official Geronimo classes began on Monday. Throughout the week, Scouts had the unique opportunity to communicate with Ham Radio operators in Albuquerque, NM, San Antonio, TX, Canada, and San Diego, CA, all using just 5 watts QRP (low power). As a reward for their hard work, these Scouts have been invited to attend JOTA at the Heard Scout Pueblo free of charge.
